Tour itinerary day by day
Meet at your hotel/ accommodations in the morning and we will have a city tour. Visit the National Museum of Mongolian History and Sukhbaatar Square, the city’s central square in front of the Mongolian Parliament building. Here we will provide you with some basic information about Mongolia and our capital, Ulaanbaatar. Have lunch at fine Mongolian restaurant. We will then visit Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the last Mongolian king’s winter palace, Buddha Park, featuring a 23 meter tall statue of Buddha and the Zaisan Hill War Memorial. The huge monument on the top of the hill was created as a memorial to soldiers who died in World War II. Zaisan Hill overlooks the city and offers the best panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar and its surrounding sacred mountains. Later we will go shopping at a cashmere factory outlet store, a souvenir shop or whatever else you want to do. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Mongolian folklore performance of song, dance, music and contortionists. Transfer to your hotel/ accommodations.

Meet in the morning and we will drive east to the beautiful Terelj National Park. Terelj is a picturesque place with high granite cliffs eroded by natural forces creating a wonderful landscape of granite tors as if carved by some giant sculptor. Visit the Turtle Rock formation, the symbol of the national park and “Aryabal” meditation temple where you will enjoy the best view of the park. Visit a nomadic family on the way back and learn about Mongolia’s traditional nomadic way of the life. Here you will have an opportunity to go horseback riding on your own if you like. Overnight in a traditional Mongolian ger.

After breakfast we will drive to Khustai National Park. The park has an area of 506 square km and was established in 1993. The park protects the “Takhi” wild horse, also known as Przewalski’s wild horse. The park also contains a great diversity of other rare wild animals and plants. Transfer to a ger camp and have lunch. Visit a small museum of the Takhi wild horse and watch a short documentary film about Khustai NP. Enjoy seeing the Takhi wild horse and other wild life in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the ger camp.

In the morning we drive to Manzushir Monastery ruins in sacred Bogd Khan Mountain. Visit a small, but interesting natural museum. The brief visit to the museum will introduce you to some of the wildlife and natural beauty of the area. See a large boiling pot that is known to have been used here to cook for 1000 people at one time. Visit the reconstructed main temple and the other temple ruins of Manzushir. Then a short and challenging walk will bring you to the unique historical and cultural expositions of god images carved in the granite rock. Have a picnic lunch. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and go shopping at a cashmere factory outlet store, a souvenir shop. Transfer to your hotel/ accommodations.
