Tour itinerary day by day
Meet at your hotel/ accommodations in the morning and we will drive west to beautiful Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes. Transfer to a ger camp and have lunch. Elsen Tasarkhai is one of the most picturesque places of Mongolia and is part of the 80 km long Mongol Els Sand Dunes. This place is a wonderful combination of pretty sand dunes, majestic granite mountains, grassy green land, a clear fresh spring and a tiny lake. Indeed, here you can enjoy seeing the combination of Gobi and Khangai Natural Zones. Visit the Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes and Erdene Khamba Temple in picturesque Khugnu Khan Mountain. Enjoy riding a two-humped camel, walking and climbing on the sand dunes. Overnight in a traditional Mongolian ger.

After breakfast we will drive to Khustai National Park. The park has an area of 506 square km and was established in 1993. The park protects the “Takhi” wild horse, also known as Przewalski’s wild horse. The park also contains a great diversity of other rare wild animals and plants. Transfer to a ger camp and have lunch. Visit a small museum of the Takhi wild horse and watch a short documentary film about Khustai NP. Enjoy seeing the Takhi wild horse and other wild life in the late afternoon.

In the morning we will drive east to Terelj National Park via Ulaanbaatar. On the way visit Chinggis Khaan’s statue complex. The 40 meter high stainless steel statue of Chinggis Khaan on the horseback is the largest of its kind in the world. Enjoy the view of the surrounding area from the open balcony on Chinggis Khaan’s horse’s head. Continue driving to Terelj National Park and have lunch. Terelj is a picturesque place of high granite cliffs that have been eroded by natural forces, creating a wonderful landscape of granite tors as if carved by some giant sculptor. Visit Turtle Rock formation the symbol of the national park and “Aryabal” meditation temple where you can enjoy the best view of the park. Visit a local nomadic family and learn about Mongolia’s nomadic way of the life. Here you will have an opportunity to go horseback riding on your own if you like. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
