Tour itinerary day by day
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. We will meet you at the airport with your name sign. Visit the National Museum of Mongolian History, Gandan Monastery and Genghis Square (Sukhbaatar Square), the city’s central square in front of the Mongolian Parliament building. Here we will provide you with some basic information about Mongolia and our capital, Ulaanbaatar.

Today we will take an early morning flight (4 hours) to Ulgii, center of Mongolia’s western most province, Bayan-Ulgii. The province is famous for its untouched snow-capped mountains and the Kazakh nation that makes up nearly 5% of the population with their rich, unique culture. We will then drive towards Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain overlooking the White River Valley. On the way view the majestic peaks of the Altai range and some of the province's most beautiful natural sites. Arrive in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park in the far west of Mongolia near the border of Russia, China and Mongolia. Altai Tavan Bogd means Five Holy Peaks of Altai and the park includes Mongolia’s highest peaks, perpetually snow-capped with beautiful glaciers.

Today we will continue driving to the park entrance. There we load our luggage on camels and will trek for around 15-16 km to the base camp at the edge of the 20 km long Potanin Glacier. Arrive at the base camp and pitch the tents.

Today we will climb Malchin Peak the lowest and easiest of the Five Peaks, the climb will not require special technical equipments. Enjoy the stunning view of untouched nature and the territories of the bordering countries. After reaching the top we will come back down to the base camp. The Altai Tavan Bogd or Five Holy Peaks include: Khuiten Peak (means cold), Ulgii Peak, Burged Peak, Nairamdal Peak and Malchin Peak. The highest one is Khuiten at an altitude of 4374 meters above sea level and is the roof of Mongolia.

Today we will trek back (around 15 km) to the entrance of the park using the camels.

Drive back to Ulgii. On the way we will visit a local Kazakh eagle hunter’s family and learn about the Kazakh people’s unique lifestyle, traditions and how they train the eagles for hunting. Visit the museum of Bayan-Ulgii Province and learn about the area and its rich culture.

Today we will fly back to Ulaanbaatar and drive to the beautiful Terelj National Park. Terelj is a picturesque place with high granite cliffs eroded by natural forces creating a wonderful landscape of granite tors as if carved by some giant sculptor. Visit the Turtle Rock formation, the symbol of the national park and “Aryabal” meditation temple where you will enjoy the best view of the park.

Return to Ulaanbaatar. Visit the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the last Mongolian king’s winter palace, Buddha Park, featuring a 23 meter tall statue of Buddha and the Zaisan Hill War Memorial. The huge monument on the top of the hill was created as a memorial to soldiers who died in World War II. Zaisan Hill overlooks the city and offers the best panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar and its surrounding sacred mountains. Later we will go shopping at a cashmere factory outlet store, a souvenir shop or whatever else you want to do. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Mongolian folklore performance of song, dance, music and contortionists followed by a farewell dinner at a fine Mongolian restaurant.
